Initial installation of the NAVIGON app

We appreciate your interest in using our navigation solutions. This article will inform you on how to proceed installing or uninstalling correctly. 

There are two possibilities to install the NAVIGON app onto a tablet or mobile phone.

First possibility: Installing via the mobile device

(Requirements: You will require your tablet or mobile phone as well as an active Wi-Fi connection)

  1. Open the app Google Play Store  on your mobile device.
  2. Enter NAVIGON in the search tool (Several navigation apps is now be displayed).
  3. Select the app which you would like to purchase. (All the information of the selected app is now be displayed).
  4. Tap on the price (i.e. 39,99€) and accept the permissions (The permissions are necessary because functions of your device will have to be used).
  5. Select the payment method and recheck the price. If everything is correct, you can confirm the purchase by tapping on the Buy button.
  6. You will be asked for the Google password depending on your settings. Enter the password and tap on Confirm (The NAVIGON app will install automatically from the Google Play Store).
  7. You may now open the NAVIGON app via the Google Play Store by tapping on the button  Open . Alternatively, the app also starts by tapping on the NAVIGON icon on your device.

Second possibility: Installing via the computer
(Requirements: You will require a computer with an internet connection)

  1. Open the official Google Play website on your computer: play.google.com 
  2. Enter NAVIGON in the search tool (Several navigation apps will now be displayed).
  3. Select the app which you would like to purchase. (All the information of the selected app will now be displayed).
  4. Click on the price (i.e. 39,99€) and select the device to which the NAVIGON app should be installed (The mobile device has to be connected to the computer).

    Please note: If a device is not available to select and the button  Install is grayed out, then the app has already been installed onto all registered devices.

  5. Accept the permissions by clicking on  Continue  (The permissions are necessary because functions of your device will have to be used).
  6. Select the payment method and recheck the price. If everything is correct, you can confirm the purchase by clicking on the Buy button.
  7. The installation will start automatically onto the chosen device. If there is no active data connection, then the installation will start automatically as soon as the device is connected to the internet (Wi-Fi).

Reinstalling the NAVIGON app

There are two possibilities to reinstall the NAVIGON app onto your tablet or mobile phone. 

First possibility: Reinstalling via the mobile device 
(Requirements You will require your tablet or mobile phone as well as an active Wi-Fi connection. Furthermore, you will require the same Google ID which was used with the initial purchase!)


  1. Open the app Google Play Store  on your mobile device.
  2. Tap the Menu icon Google Play Store Menu Icon > My Apps and Games > All. (All purchased and used apps are displayed now)
  3. Look for and select the NAVIGON app. 
  4. Tap on  Install and accept the permission.(The NAVIGON app will now download).
  5. You may now open the NAVIGON app via the Google Play Store by tapping on the button  Open . Alternatively, the app also starts by tapping on the NAVIGON icon on your device.

Second possibility: Reinstalling via computer
(Requirements: You will require a computer with an internet connection)

  1. Open the official Google Play website on your computer: play.google.com  
  2. Click on Apps followed by My Apps(All purchased and used apps are displayed now).
  3. Look for and select the NAVIGON app.
  4. Click on the Install button and select the device to which the NAVIGON app should be installed (The mobile device has to be connected to the computer).

    Please note: If a device is not available to select and the button  Install is grayed out, then the app has already been installed onto all registered devices.

  5. Accept the permissions by clicking on  Continue (The permissions are necessary because functions of your device will have to be used).
  6. The installation will start automatically onto the chosen device. If there is no active data connection, then the installation will start automatically as soon as the device is connected to the internet (Wi-Fi).

Uninstalling the NAVIGON app

The following will describe how you can uninstall the NAVIGON app from your mobile device completely.
This is useful if, for example, the NAVIGON app has to be reinstalled due to a fault without leaving a trace of the old data.


  1. Open Settings ion your mobile device.
  2. Via Apps select Manage Apps (in some cases this is also known as "Applications" or "Apps" ).
  3. Look for and tap on the NAVIGON app.
  4. First select Delete data followed by Uninstall .
  5. Connect your mobile device as a mass memory device to your computer.
  6. With the help of Explorer, delete the file NAVIGON from the internal as well as the SD card followed by the file com.navigon.navigator... from the directory Android/Data/ from the internal and external memory.

The NAVIGON app has now been completely uninstalled from your mobile device.
